Our Team

Every member of our team has undertaken high-quality training in the Pilates method from a leading, nationally or internationally recognised Pilates school and has completed hundreds of hours of observation and practice under the watchful eye of industry veterans. That adds up to a more impactful and enjoyable Pilates experience for you, our clients!

But what does “comprehensively trained” really mean? It means undertaking a rigorous program of training usually extending over several years and covering the detailed study of biomechanics and postural assessment whilst learning to apply hundreds of different Pilates exercises using a variety of equipment such as the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze, Wanda Chair, Barrels, Pilates Arc/Spinal Corrector and other various aids/props. Training covers the detailed understanding of the context and application of each exercise to addressing specific issues or achieving targeted outcomes by learning which muscles, ligaments and joints are positively impacted by the exercise, plus modifications for individuals with injuries or limitations or progressions to provide more challenge.

This is backed up by supervised class training and clinical practice sessions mentored by an experienced industry practitioner. It is not a short weekend course! That’s why all our instructors must meet the rigorous standards of the Pilates Association of Australia, the peak professional body in Australia for accrediting teachers and studios who have undertaken comprehensive training in the Pilates Method.

All that adds up to our teachers being able to develop varied and interesting reformer classes for different levels of fitness whilst helping individuals with injuries or limitations by modifying or changing exercises as appropriate. It’s the polar opposite of a “one size fits all” approach and is very much in keeping with the way that Pilates was taught by the founder of Pilates method, Joseph Pilates.
