Our Equipment
The difference quality equipment makes
We only use the highest-quality professional grade Pilates equipment in our studio, unlike cheap Chinese made copies that are very prevalent in Australia today. This means a better experience for our clients with smooth operation of equipment, correctly adjusted spring tension for each exercise, equipment that is adjustable for different body types, and a far lower likelihood of injury or accidents from incorrectly functioning equipment.
Almost all our equipment comes from BASI Systems, one of the top 3-4 manufacturers of high-end Pilates equipment globally. BASI equipment is designed by Rael Isacowitz, one of the most prominent names in the Pilates world today. Pilates Educator, Practitioner and Innovator, Author, Founder & Director of BASI Pilates, Isacowitz has been a leading Pilates teacher for over 4 decades. He is widely followed by many professional Pilates teachers, and is renowned for his emphasis on the holistic nature of the Pilates method. In designing the BASI range of Pilates equipment, he has modified Joseph Pilates’ original designs to make the equipment even more functionally effective.
The balance of our equipment comes from Balanced Body, another of the top 3-4 manufacturers of high-end Pilates equipment.
All the equipment used in our rehabilitation practice is specifically designed for professional rehabilitation, meaning each piece of equipment correctly supports the range of Pilates exercises it is designed to support.
Types of Equipment
-

Studio Reformer
Our BASI Systems Compact Studio Reformer is used for group reformer classes in our studio. It is designed to deliver professional-grade Pilates in a space-saving build, creating more space around the reformer to exercise freely. Built with aircraft-grade aluminium and a sturdy beech wood frame, the carriage glides smoothly and silently.
It features a 5-spring system (3 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue) and an Enhanced Pulley System (EPS), allowing users to adjust pulley heights to any point on the riser for precise resistance. It is also equipped with a 4-angle adjustable footbar and multi-angle headrest, allowing for seamless transitions during workouts whilst featuring orthopaedic cushioning and antibacterial, hospital-grade anti-slip vinyl.
-

Clinical Reformer
Our BASI Systems Clinical Reformer is used in the rehabilitation area of our studio. The clinical reformer is a specialised piece of Pilates equipment designed for injury rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and physical therapy. It offers tailored, low-impact resistance to rebuild strength, correct posture, improve balance, and restore safe movement patterns.
The BASI Systems Clinical Reformer is celebrated for its unmatched adjustability and orthopaedic comfort. It stands out with the industry's longest track and widest carriage, accommodating all body types, while its patented Enhanced Pulley System (EPS) and 3-gear, 5 spring settings provide limitless, silent adjustments for precise movement angles.

Trapeze / Reformer Combo
Our Balanced Body Trapeze / Reformer Combo is used in the rehabilitation area of our studio. It is a very versatile piece of equipment as it can be used as both a clinical reformer and a trapeze (also known as a Cadillac). It offers hundreds of movement variations, providing an integrated, full-body workout, with highly adaptable resistance, exceptional spinal decompression, full-body muscle toning, and outstanding support for rehabilitation and injury recovery.
Hanging or using the trapeze attachments in an inverted position allows gravity to create natural traction on the spine. This relieves pressure and tension, making it excellent for correcting posture and alleviating lower back pain. It is also ideal for individuals with limited mobility or joint issues to train safely in a stable, supported position.
-

Ladder Barrel
Our BASI Systems Ladder Barrel is used in the rehabilitation area of our studio. The Ladder Barrel is a specialized piece of Pilates equipment that combines a rounded barrel with a set of ladder rungs. Its primary advantages include enhancing spinal mobility, decompressing the back, and building profound core strength by supporting the body in multiple planes of movement.
The broad, curved surface matches the natural shape of the spine, offering tactile feedback that encourages rolling and bending safely. This promotes healthy extension, flexion, and side-bending. The attached ladder rungs are ideal for performing hamstring stretches and ballet-style leg stretches, while the barrel itself allows for deep, supported chest and back stretches.
-

Wunda Chair
Our BASI Systems Wunda Chair, also known as a Pilates chair, is used in the rehabilitation area of our studio. The Pilates Wunda Chair provides a highly versatile, full-body workout that challenges stability, coordination, and muscular strength. Its primary advantages include deep core engagement, and intense isolated resistance training for the limbs.
Many chair exercises are performed seated or standing, which removes the back support found in mat or Reformer Pilates. This forces the abdominal, lower back, and pelvic muscles to work harder to maintain stability and posture.
-

Spinal Corrector
Our BASI Systems Spine Corrector, also know as a step barrel, is used in the rehabilitation area of our studio. We also use high density foam versions in our reformer classes. The Pilates spine corrector (or step barrel) is an ergonomic, curved apparatus designed to support the natural curvature of the spine.
Its primary advantages include restoring spinal alignment, deeply mobilising joints, and building functional core strength, all while relieving back and neck tension. The unique arch encourages the spine to gently return to its natural shape, counteracting the effects of hunching over a desk. It also open the chest by facilitating a supported thoracic extension, which helps stretch tight chest muscles and correct rounded shoulders.
