Are we there yet? Update on studio opening
First of all, thank you for your patience!
I am sure many of you have been waiting patiently for our studio opening.
Unfortunately, our opening date has been pushed back a couple of months due to delays in local council approvals and building works. The local council bureaucracy has been incredibly frustrating but after a 6-month approval process, we appear to be on the verge of receiving our final approvals. Newly installed electrical wiring was also vandalised in our building at 125 Nelson Place, causing delays in the internal restoration whilst the insurance claim was sorted out.
As a result, our opening date is likely to be in July rather than our originally planned March/April timeframe.
However, finally there is light at the end of the tunnel as we now move full steam ahead! Restoration of the building is continuing at pace with beautiful new native gum hardwood flooring and Victorian plasterwork currently being installed. Our new Pilates equipment plus all the fixtures and fittings for the studio are currently secured in a shipping container, waiting to be delivered to the new studio premises! Our house has also become a de-facto warehouse for the other studio comforts and touches that will ensure that you, our clients, have the warm and welcoming experience we have promised.
We truly look forward to welcoming you into our beautiful space on Nelson Place. Our vision is to create a warm, welcoming, spa-like studio environment offering small, personalised reformer Pilates classes designed to deliver real results. Exercises will be tailored to individual needs, ensuring a supportive experience.
We plan to offer small group classes, as well as one-on-one sessions. General classes (max. 6–8 clients) will cater to beginner, intermediate & advanced levels, focusing on fitness, athletic conditioning, and preventative health. Specialised classes (max. 4–6 clients) will also be available for prenatal, postnatal, balance, and bone density.
Our philosophy is centred on delivering a high-quality experience by combining a classical approach to teaching a balanced program of Pilates exercises on the reformer with a contemporary understanding of biomechanics and the latest scientific research, all delivered within a welcoming environment.
So far, we’ve had an incredible response to our planned opening with over 80 people registering their interest in classes at the studio. However, we realise some of you may be keen to get started on your fitness journey earlier or may be unfamiliar with the Pilates reformer and would welcome the opportunity for some private one-to-one tuition.
If so, you can book sessions at my home studio based at 13 Ann Street, Williamstown, by clicking here. You will be able to book private one-on-one online sessions for just $60 per session.
Otherwise, if you are happy to wait until our new studio opens, please check out our proposed class timetable here and let us know what you think. We welcome any feedback on changes you would like to see.
I look forward to welcoming you to our studio and sharing my passion for Pilates with the local community. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at nerine.jordan@nvpilates.org or 0418 700 031.
Warm regards,
Nerine Jordan
